{"id":5654,"date":"2026-03-06T17:26:59","date_gmt":"2026-03-06T17:26:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marketsfortress.com\/index.php\/2026\/03\/06\/trader-joes-recalls-over-36-million-pounds-of-product-after-glass-found-in-rice\/"},"modified":"2026-03-06T17:26:59","modified_gmt":"2026-03-06T17:26:59","slug":"trader-joes-recalls-over-36-million-pounds-of-product-after-glass-found-in-rice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marketsfortress.com\/index.php\/2026\/03\/06\/trader-joes-recalls-over-36-million-pounds-of-product-after-glass-found-in-rice\/","title":{"rendered":"Trader Joe&#8217;s recalls over 36 million pounds of product after glass found in rice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"anchor-4c578c\" class=\"body-graf\">A recall of Trader Joe&#8217;s food products that may contain glass was significantly expanded on Tuesday to more than 36 million pounds nationwide, officials said.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-894d13\" class=\"body-graf\">The U.S. Department of Agriculture said in a news release that 36,987,575 pounds of various ready-to-eat and frozen chicken and pork fried rice, ramen, and shu mai dumpling products were being pulled from shelves.<\/p>\n<div id=\"taboolaReadMoreBelow\"><\/div>\n<p id=\"anchor-7ad81d\" class=\"body-graf\">The recalled products are manufactured by Portland company,  Ajinomoto Foods North America, Inc., which makes products for Trader Joe&#8217;s retailers across the country, according to the news release.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-ddec0e\" class=\"body-graf\">Trader Joe&#8217;s said in a news release that its four products affected include its chicken fried rice with best by dates 03\/04\/2026 through 02\/10\/2027; vegetable fried rice with best by dates 02\/28\/2026 through 11\/19\/2026; Japanese-style fried rice and best by dates 02\/28\/2026 through 11\/14\/2026; and chicken shu mai with best by dates 03\/13\/2026 through 10\/23\/2026.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-e1ff90\" class=\"body-graf\">&#8220;If you have packages of the products listed above, please do not use them,&#8221; the company said. &#8220;Please discard the product or return it to any Trader Joe\u2019s for a full refund.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-c89e52\" class=\"body-graf\">The announcement comes less than two weeks after the manufacturer announced a recall of more than 3 million pounds of frozen chicken fried rice after the U.S. Department of Agriculture\u2019s Food Safety and Inspection Service said it received four complaints &#8220;regarding glass found in product.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-2628db\" class=\"body-graf\">The federal agency said that there have been no confirmed reports of injuries due to the consumption of the rice and anyone concerned should contact their healthcare provider.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-30213b\" class=\"body-graf\">&#8220;FSIS is concerned that some product may be in retailers\u2019 or consumers\u2019 freezers,&#8221; the agency said its news release. &#8220;Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-a7b19c\" class=\"body-graf\">Sara Guindi, a spokesperson for Ajinomoto, said in a statement that the company recalled the products voluntarily &#8220;out of an abundance of caution&#8221; over &#8220;certain frozen products that may contain glass.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-d7e9b6\" class=\"endmark body-graf\">&#8220;We are committed to maintaining the highest safety standards, and we continue to work closely with the USDA,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A recall of Trader Joe&#8217;s food products that may contain glass was significantly expanded on Tuesday to more than 36 million pounds nationwide, officials said.
