A voluntary recall has been issued for more than 80,000 Keurig coffee pods, according to the Food and Drug Administration. <\/p>\n

The McCaf\u00e9 Premium Roast Decaf Coffee Pods were recalled in December due to a labeling error: though the pods were listed as decaf, they may have actually contained regular caffeinated coffee.<\/p>\n

On Jan. 23, the FDA labeled the recall as Class II \u2014 the second highest alert of three levels \u2014 in which \u201cuse of, or exposure to, a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.\u201d<\/p>\n

The recall involved 960 cartons, each containing 84 pods. The pods had been distributed through a single retailer in California, Indiana and Nevada.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u200bAt Keurig Dr Pepper, we are committed to the highest standards of safety and quality in the products we produce and distribute,\u201d Keurig Dr Pepper wrote in a statement to NBC News. \u201cAll consumers who purchased this product were notified directly by the retailer a little more than a month ago and provided with next steps regarding replacement product.\u201d<\/p>\n

All impacted products that remained with the retailer were returned, according to Keurig Dr Pepper. The retailer was not named in the statement.<\/p>\n
