The deal involved aerospace and defense specialist Emcore Corp. selling its computer chips and wafer fabrication operations to HieFo for $2.92 million \u2014 a price that included the assumption of about $1 million in liabilities.<\/p>\n<div id=\"taboolaReadMoreBelow\"><\/div>\n<p id=\"anchor-ce732b\" class=\"body-graf\">But Trump is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2026\/01\/regarding-the-acquisition-of-certain-assets-of-emcore-corporation-by-hiefo-corporation\/\">now demanding<\/a> that HieFo divest that technology within 180 days, citing \u201ccredible evidence\u201d that the current owner is a citizen of the People\u2019s Republic of China.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-88a960\" class=\"body-graf\">HieFo was founded by Dr. Genzao Zhang and Harry Moore.
