Vanity Fair said it\u2019s parting ways with journalist Olivia Nuzzi,<\/a> whose relationship with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has generated headlines for months. <\/p>\n

\u201cVanity Fair and Olivia Nuzzi have mutually agreed, in the best interest of the magazine, to let her contract expire at the end of the year,\u201d the parties said in a joint statement Friday.<\/p>\n

Nuzzi, 32, began working earlier this year as the West Coast editor for the magazine, which last month published an excerpt <\/a>from her new memoir.<\/p>\n

Her contract with Vanity Fair came after her departure from New York Magazine last year shortly after she admitted to a \u201cpersonal relationship\u201d with Kennedy, whom she had profiled for the publication when he was a presidential hopeful.<\/p>\n

New York Magazine said that an investigation found \u201cno inaccuracies nor evidence of bias\u201d in her work.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, Nuzzi\u2019s book, \u201cAmerican Canto,\u201d which includes details about her relationship with an unnamed politician, was released.<\/p>\n

In the lead-up to the book\u2019s publication, Nuzzi\u2019s former fianc\u00e9, political journalist Ryan Lizza, published allegations challenging Nuzzi\u2019s professional ethics.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Kennedy has denied he ever met with Nuzzi for anything but an interview for a New York Magazine story<\/a>.
